<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
After a long unforgiving break
from blogging, I’m finally here with a piece which I believe was sent from
above. I was writing down my bathing schedule for this harmattan period when
the title dropped within my spirit. I decided to ignore but while bathing (cos
I don’t plan on bathing tomorrow) the topic kept ringing in my mind and I
couldn’t resist putting down something to that effect. So kindly follow my
scattered thoughts on this, I will try my best to make sense.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Environmental Determinism – big word
but nothing much. It is a dualism concept of Determinism and Possibilism which
basically talks about how man is influenced by his environment with weather or
climate being the basic. Wikipedia best puts it as the study of how the
physical environment predisposes societies and states towards particular development
trajectories. Hippocrates in his book, “Airs, Waters and Places” said that
civilisation was influenced by the climate of man’s environment. Scholars such
as Al-Jahiz argued that the skin of people and livestock were determined by the
water, soil and heat of the environment within which they dwealt. Arab
sociologist, Ibn Khaldun also linked the skin of blacks people to the hot
climate of the sub-Saharan Africa and not the African lineage. While this has
been widely criticised for being one of the major causes of racism in the
world, it is in a way not far from true. A perspective of which this article
seeks to elucidate.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
While a school of thought
believes man is the master of his environment and that man determines his
conditions, it seems to be the inverse in Ghana ooo. Chai!!! See this harmattan
– this small harmattan that remove its head some few days ago. The harmattan
that was afraid to come because of Nana Addo’s taxes. It came recently and
Ghanaians were all over social media talking about how their bathing is going
to change. Eeeiiii!! This modern era of firewood, coalpot, gas and electric
kettle, children of Adam and Eve, still have excuses not to bath? Did we go or
did we come? For me the only reason why I can’t bath much this season is
because my dermatologist told my mum to tell me too much bathing is not good
and there’s literature to back my claim – just Google it yourself. Some have
even gone to the extent of making videos from this. Oh! my generation.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Let’s move a bit away from
harmattan. What happens in the raining season? That is when you see the true
display of environmental determinism. Children of Billy and Becky (Nana Addo
and Rebecca) are never slow to remind us that the appearance of Stratus,
Cumulus and Nimbus is for keeping warmth and they jump all over social media
typing “Weather for two”, “Weather for 4 legs”. It looks like almost every
sexually active person in Ghana gets horny at the ‘frowning of the clouds’. I
bet you this is the period where sexting is peaked. The School of Leaked Sex tapes
also has it that there is a positive correlarion between the rainy season and
mass production of the tapes. I mean, what happened to rain harvesting or even
Nana’s Planting for Food and Jobs? Instread of shouting “weather for two” we
can make it “weather for farming” and as you may not want to be naughty about
this, remember whatever you plant you may harvest in 3 months or 9 months, whichever
way you are good with.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
As a Geographer, it is difficult
to defend the non-existence of determinism in Ghana as the two scenarios show
we are controlled by our weather. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
But as French historian, Lucien
Febvre said, “there are no necessities but everywhere possibilism, and man, as
a master of the possibilities, is the judge of their use.”<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Therefore, I urge you fellow
Ghanaian youth to cancel the bathing schedule and go and boil water and bath. (S)He
who doesn’t bath has no right to mock the trotro mate.<o:p></o:p></div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYBnUoohdAMaL3RtncfmZrhwsO_Jb80WlVVb1dvSZ7EeWHvQ2n9Ay25HA2LVGUw6BCCGfERGiNPL7wssYBMknJF1sCdeOoQxtxZH5uqdp310ppTjKFJZapR4CjmcpY4m632V8mcaTD/s1600/Gh+flag.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="168" data-original-width="300" height="358" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYBnUoohdAMaL3RtncfmZrhwsO_Jb80WlVVb1dvSZ7EeWHvQ2n9Ay25HA2LVGUw6BCCGfERGiNPL7wssYBMknJF1sCdeOoQxtxZH5uqdp310ppTjKFJZapR4CjmcpY4m632V8mcaTD/s640/Gh+flag.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Rwanda is this, Rwanda is that. You only get to talk about Rwanda cos they let you read what you must read but if Ghana government shuts down 2 radio stations for not meeting regulation requirements then they'll go and pull out Press Freedom index and it will become the topic of discussion for days with various press conferences and campaigns.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We want development but we don't want leadership that will hold us by the balls to take us there.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Ghana-Rwanda comparison is crap. It gets sickening day in, day out. It's like comparing a laissez-faire parent to a strict parent. In Ghana we have the liberal or laissez-faire parent of a government who will be seen as wicked if he disciplines his kids. Nothing he does impresses his children. On the other hand there's the strict parent in Rwanda who gets things going cos of his strictness.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Ghanaians the bunch of kids from a spoilt home who will see children from a strict home excelling and say, we want to be like them but they get into the strict parents' home and realise the process is not easy.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We Ghanaians be wanna own downfall. We criticise and pray any good government policy fails so we can use it for politics yet when Rwanda does it we are quick to jump to Facebook and type "Our leaders have failed us", "Ghana is just a piece of shit", "Tweaaaa when will we get there?"</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Our leaders are not from any country. They're a part of our society and they're a reflection of our society. If you don't want to be disciplined, they will act irresponsible and leave you to do what you want. When the money comes, they'll spend cos even if they use the money for something good people will still kick against it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In 2008 and 2012 people didn't vote for Nana Addo cos propaganda said he was strict and a possible dictator so they went for the smooth-talking calm Uncle Atta. When he started becoming wild, they said "oh but we didn't vote for you to become wild".</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If we are not ready to pass through fire to be refined, we shouldn't expect change. Rwanda, after all they've been through should be enjoying the type of democracy we have and not us. Our coup d'États didn't help us but I doubt we suffered much than what Rwanda went through.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We are not where we have to be but it all comes down to us the people. Before we make any comparison of countries, go and read about the leadership type that got them developed in a quick time. We need a strict leader, a dictator who will allow freedom to function but stand on his grounds to make things happen.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Democracy is just a way of letting the Western world manipulate us through the media. Why don't they send their activism and what nots to China and North Korea? You see? Yet these two countries are world powers.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We are just a bunch of spoilt kids chale.</div>

Just when you're bargaining a new NSP walks in to endorse the form and it dawns on you your service is not needed. Then you start getting worried. It becomes more depressing when those you thought were colleague staffs start whispering amongst themselves and then laugh out loud. You either join the laughter even when you don't know what's under discussion or you find a rope and kill yourself. You start asking yourself "I thought we were fam?"</div>

You were acting like it was a fight for permanent employment. Ena I have protocol here, I know this person ebi now you go need the protocol ooo.</span></div>

Chale, let's set the record straight - I don't like everyone and neither does everyone like me. But let's not pretend the most annoying people are found in trotros and taxis.<br />
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
This is the reason why I prefer Uber or Taxify or driving myself when I'm able to borrow a car. You may say, "Ah, this boy what is he saying?" but wait till I list them and you'll side with me.</div>

<br /></div>

Below is the list of people I hate in trotros and taxis:</div>

1. People who go to take the front seat of a taxi when I've targeted it from a distance.</div>

3. Those who join me at the front seat and want to sit at the door as if they're the mate for those of us at the front seat.</div>

4. Back window seaters who stand for you to pass instead of them shifting inside.</div>

5. People who expect me to shift inside when I stand up for them to pass.</div>
<div dir="ltr">

<div dir="ltr">
6. Those who don't greet me when they join a taxi while I'm sitting in front.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
7. Those who intentionally join your side and end up placing you in the middle of the backseat instead of the other passenger.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
8. Those who sit in front and decide not to respond to our greetings as if they'll alight with the front seat. Mtcheeew.<br />
<br />
9. Our friends who expect us to pay the fare when we happen to be in the same car.<br />
<br />
10. Those fine girls who join us at the backseat and don't give us their numbers before they alight.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Don't make me feel evil, be sincere and add on to this list. It's not exhaustive.</div>

<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
So one way or the other we attend driving schools to gain knowledge and skills on how to drive.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
We are taught the dos and don'ts of driving and all that. The most important one is about speeding especially in an urban or peri-urban area.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Hilary Angus puts it this way: <br />
<i>...driving slowly gives you more time to react to </i><i><b>unexpected situations</b></i><i>, lessening your chances of hitting that pedestrian in the first place.</i> </div>
<div dir="ltr">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Unexpected situations. That's where the hidden truth lies. So you're driving in a town or city, what is the unexpected situation you're likely to encounter? Careless driving by other drivers, careless riding by bikers and motorists, or careless road crossing by people? You're right but you left out one thing - the chance of meeting a fine girl.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
So imagine you're driving at say 50km/h and you meet a fine girl by the road. You're left with two options - either to apply your brakes immediately and pose danger to other road users or you just have to live the rest of the day regretting you didn't look at her well. Sorry bro, speeding in the city is at your disadvantage.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>

<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Now imagine driving at 30km/h and come across a nice girl by the road side. You have so many options, in fact lots of them. You can stop and offer her a ride, you can slow down even more to admire her better, you pretend you're lost in the hood and need directions, you can just be nice and alight to talk to her.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
All these things open doors for future things. Yeah, I know the perverts and brostitutes can relate, see how you're smiling.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
Ah well, since it's a New Year I just felt I should remind you to limit your speed on the road to avoid putting the lives of everyone including yourself at risk.</div>

<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
So KNUST students say they've had it to their neck and enough is enough. What was supposed to be a peaceful demo has become an unrest.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
With all the media attention and endorsement from certain quarters, some people are wondering when it will also happen in their school. </div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Ah well, if you're in UCC (University of Cape Coast) and you are wondering when you'd also go for a demo, I'll just advise that you forget about it and look forward to completing school.</div>

<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Why? They never work and this is how demonstrations flop in UCC - the students' side and the lecturers' side.</div>

Students' Side:<br />
SRC or Local NUGS will issue a press statement to announce the demonstration a week before the d-day with assurances of item 13.</div>

Announcements will be made with constant reminders on WhatsApp groups and even at religious gatherings.</div>

Those who have come in their numbers have their books with them.</div>

<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
The demonstration starts - mostly it's a march. Meanwhile they'd be looking at their time.</div>

While the demo is ongoing, one or two people will leave with the excuse "Chale I get class, I go join you after. Just update me."</div>

<div dir="ltr">
Like this saaaaaa by the time they get to the Administration block to present their petition, the petition serf will have also gone for lectures.</div>

Lecturers' Side:</div>

<br />
If my Bible is credible enough, which I believe it is, prophets of old were sent by God to warn the people.<br />
<br />
Such pronouncements came as a result of the things the people were doing which displeased God.<br />
<br />
Take for instance, the 10 Plagues that befell Egypt. It was the price they paid for being disrespectful to God's command.<br />
<br />
We can look at that of Samuel, Elijah, Jonah, Elisha and a few other prophets whose prophecies came to past as a result of people not turning away from their sins towards God.<br />
<br />
I don't remember a prophecy in the Bible where a calamity was pronounced without a forewarning.<br />
<br />
Fast track to the 21st Century where God is now on Social Media and can avert calamities by followers typing 'Amen'.<br />
<br />
As though it's not enough, we have supposed men of God acting as Lucifer in Heaven now.<br />
<br />
We wake up to prophecies being thrown left, right, front, back, centre as though it's a Supabet prediction. The kind of prophecies we are getting in this era are mostly a Prediction of bad events without a reason why it will happen and nothing being done to avert the supposed prophesized calamities.<br />
<br />
We therefore watch so-called men of God cause fear and panic and walk scot-free. It's supposed to be illegal. What will make their trial difficult is the lack of evidence that the person didn't get the supposed prophecy.<br />
<br />
It's about time these nonsense are put to a stop.<br />
<br />
For me, I feel the prophecies they make are just items from JuJu men to help the supposed prophets be greater among their peers.<br />
<br />
Till then, I think it's about time such people are arrested on the basis of causing fear and panic.<br />
<br />
If not, let's keep avoiding the Motorway and Accra Mall on Thursdays and probably declare Thursdays as a No Mall Day in Ghana.<br />

This week, Facebook Page managers, importers and those of us who have cars to clear from the ports have been pushed to 'be careful' by the athletism of the Ghana Cedis against the US Dollar.</div>

<div dir="ltr">
In what I'll term the speed of light Reece against the Dollar, the Cedi reaching Gh¢5 against a dollar leaves many Ghanaians to thinking if this is the change we've voted for.</div>

Throwback to pre-2016 elections, Dr. Bawumia, current Veep, then running mate on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party gave us all economic theories to Forex martial arts theories on how to arrest the Dollar.</div>

This even led to a proposal of establishing a US military base in Ghana to teach our military men how to catch the Dollar but thanks to the NDC who don't want anything good for the country. The deal didn't see the light of the day and that was it.</div>

<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Still on pre-2016 elections, Dr. Bawumia have then Veep, the Late Dr. Amissah-Arthur 170 economic questions to answer. Something he wasn't able to answer till he met his untimely death.</div>

Today, it's the onus of Dr. Bawumia to answer the 170 questions he set for his Economics class student which unfortunately answers have not been found.</div>

While many have propounded and keep propounding theories to back why the Cedi is depreciating at rocket speed, there is another school of thought which believes it's more spiritual than it meets the eye. </div>

This school of thought believes the spirit of Amissah-Arthur could be haunting the Cedi hence its unprecedented fall. They believe it is to teach Bawumia a lesson that you can't criticise if you've not been a Veep before.</div>

This could be true as it's evident before us that economic jargons and 170 questions is not the solution to our economic woes.</div>

<br />
<br />
<br />
On June 6 2018, the entire nation stood still, and it wasn't to watch a Solar Eclipse. Anas Aremeyaw Anas was set to premiere an investigative piece that would shake football in the country to the ground. Everyone headed to the Accra International Conference Centre, the venue for the premiere to see the main character, the Godfather himself, Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi in action.<br />
<br />
Now, personally, It didn't come as a shock to me and I believe many of you felt the same. The only surprising thing for me was the fact that Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi had a very huge pocket. I wonder who his tailor is though? Anyway, like i was saying, it didn't come as a shock when Anas announced he has prepared an exposè to unearth the rot within the GFA ( Ghana Football Association).<br />
<br />
The Football Administrative body for the country became an ememy of many football lovers after their shambolic campaign at the 2014 Fifa World Cup held in Brazil. Many people called for the head of Nyantakyi but being the "Godfather" that he is, he "Mafia'd" his way through the angry "Mob". [Did you get that? I really hope you did].<br />
<br />
After the Number 12 exposè, many people have called for the prosecution of all those implicated. Government has also put plans in place to dissolve the current GFA so that all the rot within the institution would be cleared. Now here is the part i don't like, FIFA has sent a letter to the Government telling them not to continue with the legal processes towards GFA otherwise, they [Fifa] will ban us. FIFA has this "No Government Meddling" policy which bores me eerh, but anyway, who am I to complain?<br />
<br />
My question however is, When Fifa bans us, does that mean Ghana won't get to Play Fifa 19? If getting banned will mean that, then Government please don't prosecute them. The thought of me not using Ronaldo in Juventus is killing me. If this ban happens, think about all the tournaments your lovely citizens will miss, Do you think Sarkodie would be able to shout in the face of someone's child, "Wontumi Me!!!!" if we are banned?<br />
<br />
Now all I ask is that help me sign a petition to the President so that he understands that we get that he wants us to be Citizens and not Spectators, but for the sake of Fifa 19, we want to be Players and not banners. [I get it, it is nonfa, but is it your Nonfa?]. We can do this, Ghanaian Fifa 19 community needs us #SaveFifa19.<br />
<br />

<br />
The title above is a paraphrase of what my friend Nana Kojo said on Facebook, describing it as a scam and I so much agree to it.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
Gone are the days when Ghana had enough money to pay students for schooling. They used to be fed and all and treated like the academics they were.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
As Ghana went through the hands of Coup d'etat and revolutions, these privileges were scrapped off gradually.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
Now University students (Public Universities) no longer receive allowances. Rather, a students' loan scheme has been made available for students to make use of.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
It therefore is mind boggling when trainee teachers and nurses still receive allowances all in the name of politics.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
I've not really liked Okudzeto Ablakwah's analysis of things but in 2016 while he acted as Deputy Minister of Education, he justified why these allowances were not important and why he personally feels the student loan scheme be extended to these training institutions.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
He based it on the fact that they're all tertiary students so why should some be paid to go to school while others are not.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
Even with that, there are levels to it. You can't compare a diploma to bachelor's degree. I'm not undermining a diploma but if any of these professions should receive allowances, it should be students undertaking Bachlors in Education and Bachelor of Science in Nursing cos they carry more weight on the field.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
Because of this we have people with not too good grades being teachers and nurses, very sensitive professions, all because of the allowances they tend to enjoy. Why won't we have nurses who don't respect because it's not even their passion. They're there for the money.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
Well, that aside, these same people who have been paid with taxpayers' monies by government will come and be expecting the government to give them postings. Funny enough these ungrateful beings use threats.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
Mr. Politician, nursing and teacher trainees are just a little percentage of total student population. What if we also decide not to vote for you cos not all of us are enjoying allowances.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
What is the point in being paid to go to school and threatening the same system of they don't give you jobs?</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
So what also happens to students of Engineering, Economics and their likes who were not paid to school and are also home? </div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
In the quest to score political points we refuse to consider the long term effect. Majority of these teachers and nurses entering the field do not enjoy their profession. Only a few develop the interest when they enter.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
We complain of poor grades by students and a failing health system. Have you considered who teaches the failing kids? Have you considered the nurses to lackadaisically attend to patients?</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
We are threading a dangerous path as a nation and if care is not taken, we will be worse than we are now as a nation.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Stop paying these allowances and provide loan schemes for these people. Else stop giving them postings. Let them apply for jobs like every tertiary graduate does.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Also raise the entrance requirements of nurses and teachers.</div>
<br />
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
If one needs a minimum grade of B3 to read other medical related courses, why lower that of nurses?</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
Unless there's a reasonable justification to why they are paid allowances and still given secured jobs, my thumbs have done the talking and it's left for your conscience to do the thinking.</div>

<br />
<br />
Dear Christian Brɛda,</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Yes, you, this letter is for you. You've been chasing this sister in the church for long but being the prayer machine gun you are, you think it's a sin to ask her out.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Brɛda, today I came to tell you to be a man. You and many of your likes find it difficult approaching ladies because you feel the moment you do, the Holy Spirit will never return to you.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Dating is not a sin. You can date and still be spiritual. There's a way of going about it. Since we hitting the nail on the head, lemme do same here.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
1. Don't be a shepherd. It's good to seek her spiritual welfare but do you want to be her boyfriend or a shepherd? Go straight to the point. Let her know you want to be her friend or you want to know her better.<br />
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
2. If she allows you to shepherd her, it's not a key for you to control her life. You therefore shouldn't interrogate her on why she missed service or prayer meetings or even her devotion. Some Christian brothers tend be bossy and to an extent arrogant when they get to know a lady. Gyae mbɛlɛdze no and be romantic about it.<br />
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
3. When she invites you over for a meal at her end, at least, the first day have a complimentary drink. As a way of saying, I didn't come only to eat but to establish a rapport. Compliment her after the first spoon and after the whole meal.<br />
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
4. Don't show up in 'shirt and tie' unless you were returning from directly from work. Be casual, dude!! Even your favourite Bishop has a social and casual life.<br />
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
5. Mind you, she invited you only. Don't go with your 'elders' and 'apostles' unless she asked you to come with them. There's something called lone moments. Use that opportunity to know her better.<br />
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
6. Don't always go visiting and the days you intend on visiting her, inform her. Don't just show up at her door. Unless you wanted to surprise her. That should even be once in six months.<br />
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
7. Be open-minded. Talk about other topics. It can't always be about the church activities and it's koomininis. Discuss other things. Most girls are sapiosexual.<br />
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
8. Be at events which matter to her but it doesn't mean be at every event. It could be her ministration somewhere, it could be she giving a talk or something. If it's her graduation, show up with a flower. Just show up so she knows you care.<br />
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
These are the few important out of the many I could post. I'm not saying this will get her loving you but if Christian brothers could find beautiful ways of sweeping a sister off her feet, we won't have Christians divorcing more than they are marrying.<br />
<br /></div>

<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
This should have come long ago but due to busy schedules. What prompted me to copy this post from my Facebook page to my blog is because I feel this needs to settled as soon as possible.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
In a quest to get to Accra from Cape Coast, I'm caught in a situation I've so regretted being in. Though this is an old post, it's been modified to fit my current position.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
So now that I have your attention and got enough time to spare lemme talk about this.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Late 2017, I think in November, I had to be in Accra so instead of picking a Sprinter by the road side which I do sometimes, I decided to go for Metro Mass.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
The available bus was a Mahama bus ( the one with pictures of former heads of states including himself which the NPP have scraped off) pictured below.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Truth be told, I was excited cos it's spacious. So I joined and decided to sit in the opposite position so I can watch the fine girls, the ugly boys and the sleeping heads🤣🤣🤣.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
The journey took us 3 hours from Cape Coast to Accra. A journey which will take Ford 30 minutes to cover if the spirit descends or 20 minutes for a Sprinter without those useless stops. Well, we spent 3 hours.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
As though I didn't care, I picked it again while returning to Cape Coast and this time it took us 4 hours - left Accra at 5pm and got to Cape Coast at 9pm, the 4 hours was even half the journey since it was actually a Takoradi bound bus. I've since then resorted to boarding VIP BUSES heading for Takoradi.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
This is it. The buses you see in the images are meant for short distances like the Aayalolo buses. They are intra-city buses which are being used for Inter-city operations.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaTwaDwx2iCJ2OMWobo-OST0jic_6Cv2JhPN_gAy1CbtaE53jENutGtpew8Mc52aq4kUTlgX0iUfun97UHG_DwH9s7ssdMw-D-Pp9Z9Y6FG1EEY8SlIP_fR1hnbfPZySUY5L1FtNNt/s1600/e106d4b24e4fed33262db9a309eaca294dce0b79.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="401" data-original-width="680" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaTwaDwx2iCJ2OMWobo-OST0jic_6Cv2JhPN_gAy1CbtaE53jENutGtpew8Mc52aq4kUTlgX0iUfun97UHG_DwH9s7ssdMw-D-Pp9Z9Y6FG1EEY8SlIP_fR1hnbfPZySUY5L1FtNNt/s1600/e106d4b24e4fed33262db9a309eaca294dce0b79.jpg" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Mahama Bus</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Hence, drivers can't speed for long else they will spoil the engine. It's disturbing how resources are being misused and the need for government to replace engines when the cars break down.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
So what happened to the many orange buses in the yard of Metro Mass at Kaneshie? Are they going to be discarded because they can't be repaired? What will it change if they ain't repaired and these ones also break down?</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Appropriation and allocation of resources for their intended purpose, go a long way in helping national development.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
I can't be spending my whole life being on a journey which takes eternity when it should take a maximum of 2 hours without traffic.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Mahama buses should stop embarking intercity trips. Thank you</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
NB: please if you never traveled in any of the Metro Mass buses and therefore can't relate, please don't comment.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣</div>

<div dir="ltr">
<br></div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Dear Moesha,</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Chale you do all. People be hating at you but hellooooo, this was Moesha being interviewed and not Anita Erskine or Dr. Elsie Kauffmann or Nana Oye Lithur.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br></div>
<div dir="ltr">
What were Ghanaians expecting you to say? Sense? Or the Ghana-US Military Deal or what? Or the fact that Anyidoho's matter has died off? Or they wanted you to promote local stickers like Obinim stickers so that it could be used on SnapChat or Facebook? Naaaah, you just exported local content to an international platform.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br></div>
<div dir="ltr">
After all, who doesn't know that's what you do? As if it's new to them. Mtcheeew....bombo them all. We know Moesha sleeps with married men to be able to buy prepaid and all. It's no news joor.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br></div>
<div dir="ltr">
My problem is not with you ooo...... It's with the person who gave you the platform. So like you had to sleep with someone too to get that interview like just like that?</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br></div>
<div dir="ltr">
The economy hard ooo but baby girl you used what you have to get what you wanted. People say of all the women in the country, they didn't find anyone suitable to interview. Lemme ask them for you - of all the people in Jericho, who did God use to help the Israelites break the walls of Jericho? You see, no one but a social misfit just like you. So don't mind them.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br></div>
<div dir="ltr">
My condolences go out to the families of the married men who sleep with you. I can imagine the wreck you causing. The divorces and neglects you've caused marriages.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br></div>
<div dir="ltr">
I know you not the only person in this situation, many ladies too are but then you shouldn't have used the 5% of your social class to define all women.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br></div>
<div dir="ltr">
You see eeerh, the thing is most women just like my mum are making it without sleeping with married men. My aunties and cousins are making it without sleeping with men except their husbands. So how then do you say it's difficult for women to make it in this economy?</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br></div>
<div dir="ltr">
You should have said probably said Socialites like you are finding things difficult. </div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br></div>
<div dir="ltr">
We know your businesses are dependent on the foreign exchange market and you guys are part of the reason the Cedi keeps falling against the dollar cos you pray the little dollars you get when converted to Cedis can help keep the machinery you carry on you relevant.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br></div>
<div dir="ltr">
I am sad for Ghanaian women and CNN and all married men who have been in and out of Moeshaton. </div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br></div>
<div dir="ltr">
So aside paying rent and flying Business Class trips and all that, do you use some of the money for maintenance works on the there? Abi you know the there 😂😂😂?</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br></div>
<div dir="ltr">
I'm asking for a friend who wants to invest in the Moesha '2131' company. For some of us dieeer even if God gives us just $10 million of our future money now, we can't afford you cos your price will have shot up.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Now your value of the World Sex Exchange has increased because you 'sold' the Sovereignty and pride of Ghana - the sovereignty Koku Anyidoho so much loves he threatened a coup about and got arrested for, the Sovereignty Nana Addo got angry and threw shades at NDC in just 14 minutes.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br></div>
<div dir="ltr">
On behalf Ghanaians we are disappointed but I think I also side with this Tweep who tweeted asking what the difference was between what you said and Ebony's Sponsor? To him, one lacks instrumentation. To me, everyone sings the other.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br></div>
<div dir="ltr">
You no try kraaaa. I think you got too excited being on CNN forgetting it wasn't The Delay Show. </div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Next time, just read more of what a particular media house is about before granting them an interview.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Besides that, Moesha you do all.🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾</div>

<br />
Sometimes, you wonder why it's necessary for you to fall in what we call <b>LOVE </b>and getting yourself hurt because you gave in your all and disappointment stares at you in the face at the latter all in the name of experience .... owh... sorry for my manners. Well ...I'm JiLomet Abena Agyapong, a 22 year old final-year Journalism student at Ghana Institute of Journalism ( GIJ ), watching movies indoors is treasure to me than going out to party, I'm not the shy type at all too oo "hw3" and I'm fun to be with even though I'm an " indoorholic", being the crazy and risk taking type has earned me lots of friends especially males of which my dearest boyfriend Joojo does not like; "Jealousy".<br />
<br />
<br />
Well, Joojo is every girl's dream boyfriend, I wouldn't say he is a perfect boyfriend but he is just what I want, his handsomeness blows my mind that I don't mind stealing glances at him when we are together. Sometimes I wonder what at all made a hot guy like Joojo fall in love with an ordinary girl like me, well, that's no news, is it?<br />
<br />
<br />
It was already 12:30 pm when the last lesson had ended and my "king" was already waiting for me outside campus in an uber so we go for lunch at our usual "Azimera's Kitchen". He worked at the Media General with Tv3 so we were kinda close. As I approached, he had smiles all over his face as he scanned me lustfully in my wine off-shoulders top, with a black high waist jeans he had bought me and I knew I was killing him softly with my curves. "Mr. Curtis Joojo Hanson, what at all are you staring at?" I snapped at him teasingly as he chuckled showing a white set of teeth that alone made my heart skip a beat. The thoughts that were flooding my mind dier hmm.<br />
<br />
<br />
On our way, there was this awkward silence and it looked like he was gathering up courage to tell me something, I slowly slipped my hands in his and softly asked "hey, anything wrong? Wanna tell me something?" "Uh.....no, it's nothing, I'm cool" he replied. I had no other option than to believe that everything was alright. It had been 5 months already since Kevin and I parted ways and exactly 3 months Joojo and I got into a relationship. Kevin was my first love and boyfriend. I had not been in any relationship till I was 18 when I accepted to be his girlfriend, you can imagine the love I showed this guy, but after sometime things got rough between us and here I am with Joojo. "Abena, Abena!" Joojo snapped his fingers at me "yeah! Oh ....sorry, errm pls I'll take Jollof with fried plantain wai with mango juice as well" I smiled at the waitress and turned to Joojo to apologise for being absent-minded. We were having our normal chat and were served our meals but Joojo asked to be excused to visit the washroom leaving me at the table all by myself. I raised my glass of mango juice to drink when I saw a few metres away from me someone that made me choke and cough loud that got everyone around look at me with concern.<br />
<br />
To be continued...<br />

<br />
Dear Dela,</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
It's with humbleness I pen down these words, not in brofo agbo cos I don't read novels but in plain and simple brofo like I will speak on any normal day so that even the one with a certificate from Kindergarten can understand.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
I've heard of your name over some time but you seem to be really enjoying some kinda attention this past week cos you decided to teach an accomplished lawyer, husband and daddy who has been happily and successfully married for 25 years what you think is wrong in his marriage.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Cool steeze Dela. I don't know but something tells me you have a bitter past and it's rather unfortunate you are using it to destroy the feminist agenda instead of seeking help.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
If I trace the period you ran for the SRC presidency in UG, 2012/13 Academic year, it shows you still a young lady although your face says otherwise. But I know there's a bright future ahead of you which you keep dimming.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
This world is not always about takashi and being right. You could be right but how you communicate it may be your disadvantage. I know I'm not the one to tell you this, but no matter how feminist you are in thinking, you'd need a man at a point in your life.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
An opportunity may come and you'd be Canaanized because the person to give you the job is a friend to someone you might have disrespected.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Just as I'm not worthy to teach you a Master's Degree holder some basic facts of life, I don't think you also have the right to be poking your nose into every issue. At times, shutting up is worth your virginity and the better you know this, the better for your kids.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
You can't impose your ideologies on everyone. Even God, who is the Ogboo Nana, Ɔgbɔrɔ 1, Odeeshi Mantse serf, doesn't impose his wants on man (I mean Men and Women alike. Can I get some biblical Amen?) He gives them the freedom to do what they want. So stop jumping from one post to the other like a fox, wanting to change everyone's thoughts. If it could have been done, God will not need your help now to do that Millions of years after creation.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
But come to think of it, how will you raise up your child if it's a boy? As a feminist? As in, you'd advise his wife-to-be not to cook for him or what? Like I'm not thinking far.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Sweetheart, you really need to talk to someone. This your atakpa type of feminism no dey boil beans serf, maybe that explains why it took your beans four hours to boil . It boiled out of frustration.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
I don't think you're better off than my aunt, Dr. Mrs. Buxton, who cooks for her husband. Neither are you better than Michelle Obama to see cooking as slavery. Any3biaaaa if you cook give your husband, you no go chop some?</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Well, me dieeer I've spoken and the only advice I'll give you is 'you for talanku'.</div>

Nii Martey narrates:<br />
<br />
The story is crazy and unbelievable but it happened chale. It happened and it worked.<br />
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
So this is the background. My mum is the hardworking type who knows no rest. At times I'm tempted to believe she was in Katanga Hall. Even when she's asleep, she's working in her dreams.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
The moment she wakes up, her hands are on something. Because of that, ants find it difficult being in the house cos they won't rest if she sights them.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Unfortunately for my siblings and I, as long as she's not asleep we became the labor force. This woman can create jobs within 2 months if made the president of Ghana.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
You can't just be in your room doing nothing. She must see you working so my siblings and I devised a plan.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Coming from a Christian home with holistic training and daily morning devotions not to talk of our punctuality to Sunday School, we knew our memory verses off head.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Therefore, it came as no surprise when after pasting a biblical interpretation on our door, mummy stopped calling us anytime we were "doing nothing".</div>
<div dir="ltr">

<br />
<br />
Did you know getting to know a girl is just like doing your final year Project Work or what some refer to as Dissertation or Thesis? You go through it naturally without thought.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Probably you've not given it a thought but that's what it is. So lemme take you through the process of applying Research Methods in getting to know a girl.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
In this paper, I'm going to be explaining using a Research Report format on how to go about it.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<h3>
Chapter 1: The Problem and its Background</h3>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
This is the first step. You need to identify the problem, which is, you not being able to let her go. You can't afford to lose her, at least you must befriend her.<br />
<br />
You should have your objectives and very good ones not the gala objectives or hit-and-run types. They should be geared towards marriage.<br />
<br />
You must also justify why she should accept you as friend and state what she should expect from being your friend.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<h3>
Chapter 2: Literature Review</h3>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
This chapter of getting to know a girl is very important. You tend to ask other people who may know her relevant questions. If for instance you've fallen for her, you may be interested in if she's in a relationship, how many guys she's dated, yeah 'them things some'.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
The importance of Literature review is it gives you an understanding of the problem at hand which in this case is the girl you want to befriend. It helps you know what others think about her and gives you a firm grasp of the issue at hand.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Mind you, with this type of literature review, you don't cite or reference your source. You can try it if you want the project to be terminated halfway.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<h3>
Chapter 3: Methodology</h3>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
It's the steps taken in conducting a research - the process of collecting data and information to make an informed decision.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
So at this stage, your sample is the girl. Your study area is where you guys interact whether social media or rendez-vous. The difficult part of this research is the Data Collection technique. </div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
You should know whether to use Interviews or Observation because it's a qualitative research. Since it's just her, you use both the Observation and Interview Methods but blend its types - structured, semi-structured and unstructured, in order to have a flowing conversation.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<h3>
Chapter 4: Data Analysis and Interpretation</h3>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
After your convo with her, you tend to gather the relevant data. Then you begin to process the data you have through thinking and analysis.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
You then form your judgement about her, whether she's the one or like the others. That's interpretation.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<h3>
Chapter 5: Results Presentation, Discussions, Recommendations and Conclusions</h3>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
At this moment, boys-boys, best friends, siblings or anyone you are close to comes in. You tell them what you think about the girl and then you discuss her around a bowl of fufu or a table of pizza.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
The boys will give you recommendations on how to handle her type and how you shouldn't 'lose guard' especially if you're interested in her.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
At this juncture, when you're done with them and you go into your closet, you make your conclusion and have the courage to tell her how you feel.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Just like in Academia, no problem is completely solved and since you're dealing with a woman, you will end up repeating Chapter 2, 4 and 5 as long as you want to understand her.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
But take this from me, for the sake of security and peacefulness, never try to understand them. A woman is like the Trinity - never meant to be understood.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
So this is how we end today's lecture on getting to know a lady.</div>

Eureka! Eureka! Eureka!</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br></div>
<div dir="ltr">
The reason why Chicken is eaten most during Christmas than any other meat.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
Have you ever wondered why the sale of chicken booms in December than any other month?</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Have you thought of why most people eat a lot of Chicken during Christmas? Well, I found the answer.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br></div>
<div dir="ltr">
1000 years after the cock crowed thrice and Peter betrayed Jesus which made him feel bad, revolutionary Christians realised that the cock could be a factor to the death of Christ so what did they decide to do? Kill all cocks and members of the Poultry - Fowl family.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
So they decided to wait till Christmas to make it look as though they were feasting.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Many many years down the lane, this tradition of killing fowls during Christmas remains and many people - Christians and Non-Christians, are continuing this tradition.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br></div>
<div dir="ltr">
One will ask, how did I know? Well, that's what happened when every morning when a cock stands behind my window to disturb my sleep and thoughts of killing it comes to mind.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br></div>
<div dir="ltr">
So the next time you kill a fowl for Christmas, remember it's a way of reducing snitching amongst fowls.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br></div>
<div dir="ltr">
The day a ram will chew my plantain, I'm pretty sure I'll find one for why Muslims kill Ram during Idr-Adha and Idr-Fitr.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br></div>
<div dir="ltr">
