Wano always invited Kilwa out in the company of the opposite sex, always returning home drunk and smelling of cigarette. Not even the rebuke of our old parents could deter him. It was one such outing that Wano spotted a very beautiful lady and made his intentions known to his bosom friend. His dreams were however, not to be, for Kilwa, who had now got his 'P.O.P' broken, made a day move for the grasp but was unsuccessful.

Wano heard of this but bring his old proud self did not make any more moves and pretended he was not in the known of what had happened. On another occasion, a junior to Wano came to him for tutelage in mathematics, but he having forgotten all his O-Level stuff, sent her to Kilwa. Just five minutes after getting back home, this beautiful girl came panting and showered Wano with insults. He managed to calm her down and upon questioning found out that Kilwa had wanted to seduce the poor and innocent girl. Wano actually became infuriated but kept his anger under control and escorted the girl back home. To maintain the friendship between them however, he did not ask Kilwa anything and rather entrusted him with more important secrets.

There is, however, always a last straw to break the camel's back and no matter how elastic a band is, if the elastic limit is exceeded it will break. One sunny Sunday afternoon, Wano and Kilwa attended a pay, but Wano being a little down hearted that day, withdrew to an obscure corner at the party and remained a silent observer. But as the saying goes, "a lion does not grow old with his paws". So it came to pass that a nice lady entered and became the centre of attraction, since her beauty surpassed all those who have lived, those who are living, and this who will come to live.she attracted the interest of all the unattached men in the room, but in the game of wooing, trust the veteran to emerge the winner.

Wano, combining his handsomeness effectively with his reading ability won the rat race and took the lady to his corner. With his morale one more high, the lady never got bored with him, and they chatted on various topics till the early hours of the day when the party ended. Wano promised to visit Nnowa, for that was her name, forgetting entirely that he would be traveling the same day. Thus on recollection, he delegated Kilwa to undertake the visit on his behalf.

Question of the day:
Would you give your fish to a cat to look after it for you?

To be continued...........
