UNREQUITED LOVE

Once upon a time, I fell in love with someone who didn't love me back. I missed someone who wasn't mine to miss, dreamt of someone who wasn't mine to dream about and loved someone who wasn't mine to love.

It is said that it hurts to lose the one you love but it hurts even more to find out that you mean nothing to the one who means everything to you.


It hurts to spot the one you love in a crowded room only to see him/her searching for someone else. To see him/her beam with smiles when they see the ones they love but in their presence you have an invisibility cloak on-you are never seen.


Unrequited love is a beautiful one- crushing and thrilling, selfless and kind.

It is when you love unconditionally, knowing your feelings will never be reciprocated and you can never call him/her yours in the fullest sense.

It is when you are truly "Just Friends", platonic friends with no flicker of hope.

It is when their smile melts your heart, a simple hello makes you happy because you crossed their mind.

It is when you spend your nights crying because you want to be the one for him.

It is when you see him with her and you wonder if being more beautiful would capture his attention.

It is when you would do anything for them to notice you.

He is your Prince Charming but you are not his Cinderella.


Most of us are in such state. It could be your bestfriend, a close friend, a colleague, the girl you see everyday on campus or that guy. We may not be known by them or they might know us but not see us from that point but, it wouldn't hurt to let them know.

Gather the courage and tell them how you feel. Maybe, you will be able to sort things out or maybe not. But never pass up on an opportunity to let someone know that your heart is invested in them.But if you are rejected, don't lose hope. Someday, you'll find someone who loves you the same way.

Once upon a time, when I fell in love with someone who didn't love me back, I decided to let go. Do I regret it or am I happier now? That's for me to decide. But, you still have the chance to make a choice-To love them or To let go.
