Dear self-acclaimed satirists,
Satire is not a display of stupidity or foolishness. It's a way of writing that addresses confronting societal, political and economic situations in a humorous manner in the hope of getting them corrected.
According to Wikipedia, Satire is a genre of literature, and sometimes graphic and performing arts, in which vices, follies, abuses, and shortcomings are held up to ridicule, ideally with the intent of shaming individuals, corporations, government or society itself, into improvement.Although satire is usually meant to be humorous, its greater purpose is often constructive social criticism, using wit to draw attention to both particular and wider issues in society. I therefore do not see how you address or conform to any of these definitions of satire.
In recent times we have seen stories from your websites which are full of mischief and deceit. Your disclaimer does not solve matters as a bunch of Ghanaians, sadly to say, smart phone users, who have a blocked head take these issues seriously, get on various social media platforms and ruin insults on people's personality. Some go all the way to say things out of context cos you misled them.
I don't know how hungry you are that you can't fend for yourself but on the clicks of the average ignorant Ghanaian. You get some revenue from Google Adsense and you think you're making it in life? Sorry, but that's equal to fraud just in case you don't know.
Last week you brought out a sorry on DKB, King of Ghanaian Comedy, which was very appalling. You found it funny but the comedian didn't do that should tell you how low you put yourself. There was a story about Obinim resurrecting Okala which was so not funny. What caused this letter was the story about Owusu Bempah releasing Obinim's ordination pictures. For crying out loud, do you even reason before typing these silly stories you call satire?
All these things about Obinim and his spiritual gimmicks which we wish not to hear of anymore are being hyped by useless sites like yours. Why won't he continue playing the fool? You've got to grow up small. Satire is not meant for kids. Some of us over the years have tasted satire like our balls, making sure it doesn't get destroyed and it follows tradition.
I would therefore not sit there for a bunch of hungry useless bloggers to come and spoil what others have done. Probably you can go ahead with what you are doing but don't ever call it satire. You can give it another name. Satire is meant for development and growth. If you ain't ready to grow don't stop others from growing.
Screwlife and On Da Mic, if your life is screwed, get off the Mic and let the masters handle it. Too many lives have been screwed thanks to you. Till we meet again, it's a campaign to get you growing up............Bon Chance.
