THE PRESTIGIOUS AFRICAN TROPHY
Africa, in recent times, has been in the international spotlight not because of poverty but the outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus disease which I personally believe was created to wipe out Africans. So far, and thanks be to God, only a few countries; Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Nigeria and Mali have been affected by this deadly epidemic in Africa with Nigeria being the only country to have contained it and declared an Ebola-free state. As poor as Africa is as a continent, we are trying our maximum best to make sure this deadly virus does not spread its lengthy arm to the rest of Africa but it looks like some people on the continent have entered an agreement with the Ebola Virus to help smuggle some of its agents to other African countries with a diplomatic passport under the pretext of football.
In as much as Africans love football, we love our lives better but we are surprised some people have misplaced priorities or objectives. I probably thought it was only my president who did lack some priorities (the sanitary pad wahala) but it looks like it runs through all levels of presidency on the continent including that of CAF (Confederation of African Football).

LOST PRIORITY:
A PROTEST BY A CONCERNED AFRICAN
Africa's biggest festival like any other continent is the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) where we display our rich culture as well as which country rules the continent when it comes to football. Who wouldn't love to display the quality of players she possesses? Who wouldn't love to also enjoy the benefits which comes from participating as a country on such a platform? Everyone does and even in Ghana, it gives us a break from the atrocities and lies heavily heaped in the mouth of our politicians. Our president also gets the chance to rest since all insults would now be channeled to the Coach of the national team. But this is a situation where we seem to be hosting an unwanted visitor on our land who poses a big risk to our health hence the call by Africans to have this festival postponed. But CAF have shown with all pride that it places soccer ahead of the lives of those who would enjoy it. Morocco had to back out in hosting this festival with the hope of having this festival postponed until most nations have been able to contain this epidemic but rather CAF gave it to Equatorial Guinea. Question on my mind: Is Equatorial Guinea ready for this festival? Even though they are an oil-rich country, it's has majority of its people poor. Can they contain the Ebola epidemic if it hits their country. I know for sure they have co-hosted this festival before but what would CAF give them an EBOLA ALLOWANCE as part of the hosting privileges? CAF please I believe we have sensible people sitting in the offices there and not a bunch of blockheads. Please it is not too late to rescind your decision. You would end up saving lives rather than attending useless funerals and wasting money on compensations.
